A Country, Not A War is a travel commentary about Vietnam in 1998. It includes many historical and contemporary observations, which relate to the journey from Saigon to Hanoi and places in between. The book reflects the author's view that the word "Vietnam" still produces a stronger emotion than all but few others in the English language. These impressions of Vietnam are intended to be humorous at times, as well as informative.
