I really liked the voice of this author. The book was clever and funny and I actually laughed outloud in a couple of spots. That being said, the story was a tad tedious. There was not a lot of action - they were either in the dining room, the parlor or the garden, which even the characters in the book bemoaned. The romance in this was sweet, not steamy, and was even light on the romance. The ending of this story just didn't work for me either. But, as I said, I liked the author, and I will be looking for other works by her. ( )

This is one creative romance story! A little light on the romance itself perhaps, but lots of fun to read. Who among us hasn't gotten so absorbed in a book, that they felt they were really part if it? Our unlikely, and wonderfully disastrous heroine, wishes herself away from her own life and finds herself a character in a mediocre Victorian parlor novel as it's being written. Can she figure out how to be herself and still help the author find her happy ending? ( )
