A young adult and childrens look at identical twins and twin telepathy. ( )
  Bettesbooks | Jan 11, 2017 |
Interesting premise but the dialogue was a little rough. Ms. Mitchard does better writing about adults.

Merridith and Mallory are identical twins born two minutes apart in different years. They have a special twin language and can read/feel each others thoughts and are generally inseperable. When they are thirteen, there is a mysterious fire at their house, nearly killing them, their brother and some cousins. After the fire, the twins do not share dreams anymore. Now one of them can see visions of past events while the other sees events that will happen in the future. The visions get to be more disturbing and the girls have to use their "gifts" to survive a dangerous situation. This is the first book in a trilogy about Merridith and Mallory.

I really didn't enjoy this story at all. It was anticlimactic and annoying (the "twin language" I found especially grating). It probably didn't help that I listened to it on audiobook and didn't care for the narrator at all. I love Jacquelyn Mitchard's adult novels and I'll stick to those in the future. ( )
