This is a good example of fantasy. The characters are realistic seeming, though they are animals, because they have realistic human interactions and actions. The circumstances (Wally doesn't want to go to school because of a bully) are realistic and so even though we're reading about a world that doesn't exist, we're able to identify and believe it.
