Jack Higgins is a international bestselling author. Before he became a writer he was a soldier and teacher. His books have sold over 250 million copies, one of his best was The Eagle Has Landed. He has brought his knowledge of being a soldier into his books. This makes his books very realistic and easy to picture. Now, how does Deathrun compare to the rest of the Rich, Jade, and John Chance series?

John Chance and his children were trying to have a peaceful vacation. John Chance is a worker for a some what secret crime fighting organization of the British government. John must rescue a mafia banker while on vacation. The banker is being held captive at a hotel casino because he wants to defect and give evidence against his bosses even though the mafia still needs him. Chance must rescue him and bring him back to safety so he can give the information that the police need. Rich and Jade, children of John seem to get caught up into this when they are kidnapped in Venice. When John finally gets them safely back to England, he puts both Rich and Jade in a private school. This was supposed to be safe, but the banker is actually hiding as one of the teachers from the mafia. So, Rich and Jade’s lives are in jeopardy again because the mafia will do anything to get the banker back. The mafia come to the school and John must act quick to save his children’s and the banker’s lives. This book compares to Sure Fire, Sharp Shot, and First Strike. Those are other books in the Rich, Jade, and John Chance series.

Deathrun was an action packed thriller like many of his books. I think this book sets up an awesome finish. If your looking for action, it will really pick up towards the middle and end. I think Deathrun is one of the better books of this series. I’d recommend this book for young adults (teenagers) who like action. Overall, this book is a 4 out of 5 stars compared to the rest of the series.

I love these books. They are action packed. And the realtionship between Jade and her father is quite humorous., ( )
