This book of poems explores everything from love and conformity to the nature of time. The black and white illustrations have a comic sensibility that could add appeal to readers. There is a “small-type notes for those with excellent eyesight” at the back of the book featuring fascinating notes on the backstories for many of the poems. Lawson uses various poetic forms to create verses that are both humorous and thought provoking.

I am not a huge fan of poetry but I enjoyed reading this book, and I think that kids would like it too.

Winner of the Lion and the Unicorn Award for Excellence in North American Poetry. ( )

I loved this book and think it would be well received by teens.

"Are you Worried?

Are you worried you're not
like everyone else?
Your worries will only worsen
when you find
that the path to conformity
is different for each person." ( )
