30. Brisingr by Christopher Paolini in English
Third book of the Inheritance series. Paolini's style improved a lot. The middle part of the story felt too slow to me, and I wondered whether it was worth it to extend the series to four books. Still, I will read the final book, too.
... very well thought out. As mad as I was at Christopher Paolini for leading me to believe, right to the very end, that Brisingr was the final book in his 'trilogy', it was a much better option than having a weak ending.
I only give it four stars, whereas it's prequels got 5 and 4 1/2

62. Brisingr, or, The seven promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Bjartskular by Christopher Paolini
One of many plain problems with Brisingr . I didn't get the impression Mr. Paolini was paying much attention to what he was doing.
I like Eragon. I liked Eldest pretty well too. Brisingr stunned me with how TERRIBLE it was.
If you like fantasy, Eragon is an example of all the fantasy tropes done correctly and you should read it. Don't bother with Brisingr, it reads like an RPG guide.

Finished both Eldest and Brisingr by Christopher Paolini this weekend. Now I just have to wait for him to finish the 4th (and likely the final book) in the series to see how it ends.
29 books read.
>#7: I can't say Brisingr was a "worst book", but I do agree that it seemed it would never end and did not measure up to the first two. And then to find out there is going to be a fourth book when this one was supposed to be and should have been the last!

I hesitate to confess I am reading Brisingr by Christopher Paolini as so many have panned it and attacked his family for his "fame". I do not know the truth of the accusations that his "publishing" family pulled strings to get him published at an early age; nor, do I necessarily agree his books ...

Espy has a good point about Brisingr . It's really not so horrible, it just isn't a book to read in one sitting. And there were spots that dragged, but also parts I really liked. It is certainly better than Eldest. Though it still bothers me that it's no longer a trilogy.

A scary thought...A part of me wants to cut the book in two so I can carry half of it around with me to read now, and read the other half of it once I'm done with that. Books need to be portable! And yet, when it came to reading HP books 4-7 my ...
Sounds as good as any. Seems to me he had Brisingr named at the end of Eldest.
bell7 - I, too, enjoyed Brisingr but thought it too long. 800 page books seem to be the thing these days and, like, you, I get half way through and want something else. This is when I try and read two (or more) books at the same time - give a bit of variety.
Still working through Brisingr - approx. 450 pages done and another 300 left to go. It's been over a week and I'm ready for a new book. It's not a bad story, just way too long, and I feel the need to polish off something quick and easy to boost up my "books read" numbers by the end of the year.

I am immune. Brisingr came in for me at the library yesterday and I am well over halfway through it. I'm probably going right back to it after I catch up on threads.
K, I think I have caught the same should-read-Brisingr -but-keep-reading-other-things disease. I borrowed it from someone 3 weeks ago and am still not even halfway done. :/ She's going to ask for it back soon and I won't be done! Why won't I just read it!?
I didn't read Brisingr yet after all. I stayed up till 2am reading Fingersmith one night and decided to finish it first before moving on to that book. I'm a little over half way through it. Great book, mar and LG!
GN: Brisingr finally came in at the library.
