Short, but perfect as always from Scalzi :) ( )

Questions for a Soldier is a short story featuring John Perry on one of his Colonial Defence Force PR visit to a colony. After a dinner, he is asked a few questions about life in the CDF and some critical questions about the Colonial Union's apparent imperialistic attitudes.

There is nothing groundbreaking here, but a short enjoyable interlude between Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades. ( )

Following the events of Old Man's War John Perry embarks upon a press junket during which he answers questions about his heroic exploits. This text describes his question and answer session with the colonists of Huckleberry.
Scalzi gives his protagonist just the right words to say to ingratiate himself with the colonists. Perry, or Scalzi himself!, would be a very successful politician! I look forward to more from this author as well as this series. ( )
