Turbulent Sea is book 6 in Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series. Unfortunately, it's the last book in the series until June! What am I going to do? Luckily, I have about a bajillion books on my tbr list just waiting for me to pick them up. But I digress, back to the review.

Turbulent Sea is the story of world famous musician Joley Drake, and secretive bodyguard Ilya Prakenskii. Joley is the sixth daughter of the enchanting Drake family. Joley is a charismatic performer, and shares a powerful magical inheritance with her six sisters. Joley is a spell-singer, able to compel anyone who hears her voice to feel or act anyway she wants.

We first met Ilya Parenskii in Oceans of Fire. He grew up with Abbey Drake's fiance Alexsandr Volstov in a group home in Russia. From a very early age, Ilya was brutally trained for a high-stakes life among criminals. As a bodyguard for notorious mobster Sergei Nikitin, he is detached, enigmatic, and hard as nails, but his love for Joley is destined to melt his heart of stone, and in so doing will force him to reveal dangerous secrets that will put not only his life in jeopardy, but also the lives of Joley and her family.

Turbulent Sea was in short, everything I hoped it would be! It was the best book in the series so far, full of action, romance and mystery. I loved the characters of Joley and Ilya. The chemistry between them was complex and satisfying -I really enjoyed reading about all the characters in Turbulent Sea - every character, from Joley's band mates and crew to the crazed fans, were dynamic and well-written. The other Drake sisters took a back seat in this book, allowing the action to keep speeding toward it's conclusion.

I can't wait for the next book to see what happens with Elle Drake and Jackson Deveau. As the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, Elle is destined to pass on all the Drake family's magical gifts to her seven daughters. I wonder how Jackson will handle the idea of being a father to seven magical little girls of his own! ( )

I was a little disappointed. . .This story has been building and building with tension, background and unexplored passion. But we get to the story and I found our heroine to be a little whiny and the hero not sharing a darn thing. I was hoping for more background with his story but he choose not to share with her and told he never would. I felt the story revolved around the secondary characters more than the main, which was interesting but not what I expected or even wanted. For me the lowest rated book of the series, not up to my expectations. ( )

This book is bout Joley the rock star. Her gift is singing which has made her an overnight sensation leaving her feeling trapped by fame and fortune …. She falls in love with Ilya Prakenskii a bodyguard, whom has powers of his own. He also was the enemy of Alekandr her brother in law. While trying to hide the fact that they are together after a missing girl and a dead person or two, he saves her and her family accepts him. ( )

I liked most of the dark series by christine feehan that I have read , in fact I probably have read most of them, this series is similar I mooched this book off bookmooch, and have resent it to someone else already, I would have to say I like this series it reminds me of Nora Roberts Face the Fire series but this is a bunch of sisters with paranormal gifts and something dark trying to get them etc etc, nice for a rainy weekend a fast read with lots of steaminess, I liked this book better that the next one by far the lead male is *cough* Hot, a fantastical romance, not a bad couple hours read. ( )
