I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to develop a soft partnership with the horse. I really like the way Klaus explains and illustrates. It is an easy read and easy to understand. Its been a while since I first read this book and you will see many things highlighted. It was a nice refresher to scan through this book again, its amazing how much we do forget if we aren't using the skills everyday. He does a very nice job explaining how your boby language communicates to the horse, both on the ground and on the horses back. I think this is a must read for any horse owner or volunteer working around the horses.

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0851317871, Hardcover)

Dominance without punishment, collection without rein pressure, these apparent contradictions are explained as this charismatic new author demonstrates his revolutionary method of teaching and training based upon precisely defined body language. The method, a way of communicating in a visual language understood by the horse, assists the rider to develop a 'presence' and to achieve interaction with the horse. It is classically based and embodies both holistic and spiritual principles. Packed with marvellous colour photographs, this book has already been a bestseller in Germany, France, Spain and Scandinavia and will enthral every horse owner.

To Hempfling, the primary obligation of riding is to maintain the horse's own natural, powerful and elegant movement under saddle. In this video, he demonstrates how the rider can "speak the language of horses."
