I knew from the title that I was going to settle in for some light fun reading. Sometimes the brain needs a break. I love the strong woman vibe! After all, if you can't find a superhero when you need one, why not shake it up and BE one. 🙂 ( )

"Nikko thought she was even more beautiful asleep, and he would have been content to lie there for hours beside her, watching her dewy lips and the slow rise and fall of her chest."

Oh gag me with a spoon... Accck, I've got a hairball.

There is no way in Hell a man would think like that.....So my translation into real life would read:

"She was more beautiful asleep" = Thank God, she's finally stopped her constant yammering at me.

"Watching her dewy lips" = How could anyone slobber so much while asleep?

"And the slow rise and fall of her chest" = Man, look at them hooters!

A Step in the Right Direction: Good story with all the humor I've come to expect and love from Julie Kenner. I'm glad Lydia was able to find her place in the world.

Kung Fu Shoes!: It was cute and entertaining. I will likely read more Jade Lee stories

Karma Kitty Goes to Comic Con: I could not sink my teeth into this story.

Three fun stories of what happens when you find shoes that aren't just perfect: they're magic.

I was expecting very stereotypical chicklit out of this collection, but was pleased to find some little geeky touches in the three heroines. And really, what girl doesn't need boots that help out with literal buttkicking when necessary? Each story is a quick and fun read. ( )

Epigraph
Dedication
To Catherine and Isabella, my two little super girls............................................................................Thank you Julie and Marianne for being so brilliant and sharing space with me.  And thank you to Chris Keeslar for letting me use shoes instead of boots and for being so creative in the first place! As a gesture of my thanks, editor extraordinaire, I will let you have my first pair of magic shoes. Well, maybe not if they are really cool. Maybe you'll just get a fruit basket instead. Anyway...thank you all!.................................................To fellow Rebel of Romance Liz Maverick.  May this year's "costumes" give us superpowers, too.
First words
Come on Ruthless, whispered Nikko, peering down at the street through his Council-issued binocs from the observation deck of the Empire State Building...............................................................................................Michaela Becker's heart sank as she reached for The Scarlet Letter...................................................................................Whoa.
