Sir Ian Kershaw, the premier biographer of Hitler, wrote a rather compelling biography of Hitler, stretched into two volumes, Hubris and Nemesis. This edition is a single, edited, version of those two books, short about 650 pages (approximately 300,000 words). However as Kershaw states in the introduction, the deleted parts are mainly details about the setting of the times, and seemingly doesn't detract from the overall biography.

That said, the book itself covers his life, from birth to death, and looks at how he formed his views. While detailed, it is also proves to be very easy to read, and rather straightforward. There is not much information about the many different characters involved in the life of Hitler and while there are indeed many, they are easy to keep track of, and not a distraction. It would be hard to find a less thorough biography of one of the most complex individuals to ever live, and almost necessary reading for anybody interested in the story of Hitler. ( )

Interesante pero saltea algunos aspectos para dedicarse a lo más domestico como por ejemplo guerra española o las olimpíadas ( )

Ir reminds more of a textbook but at the same time I didn't find much of information there. The author rehashes the same quite trivial and well established topics again and again (and makes the reading quite boring). ( )

Finally, the one-volume edition of Ian Kershaw's definitive and masterful biography of Hitler.

"The Hitler biography of the twenty-first century" (Richard J. Evans), Ian Kershaw's Hitler is a new, distilled, one-volume masterpiece that will become the standard work. From Hitler's origins as a failed artist in fin-de-siècle Vienna to the terrifying last days in his Berlin bunker, Kershaw's richly illustrated biography is a mesmerizing portrait of how Hitler attained, exercised, and retained power. Drawing on previously untapped sources, such as Goebbels's diaries, Kershaw addresses crucial questions about the unique nature of Nazi radicalism, about the Holocaust, and about the poisoned European world that allowed Hitler to operate so effectively.
