This is a fast paced, thrilling ride into the twisted world of Scott Sigler. The yarn he spins is amazing and one of his best books. Reading the book felt like sitting at the campfire and being told a scary story. I can't wait for the sequel!

Ah Earthcore, the story that made me a dirty junkie (the affectionate title proudly worn by Sigler devotees). This story came out several years ago as a serial podcast and after catching the first couple episodes, I was hooked. So hooked that I bought the paperback the second it hit print. ( )

I'm not a big reader in the genre, this had me leaping at shadows on the bedroom wall. Ulp. I take it that means it was a well done horror?

It was interesting, but not to my taste. ( )

One thing I particularly like is that Sigler didn't pull his punches or cop-out at any point. All the threats lined up at the beginning of the book were delivered on before the end. In fact I strongly recommend that you not get too attached to any characters as Sigler is ruthless at culling them throughout the novel.

I loved this book! Right from the start it built the tension and had me wondering ‘What the heck is it?’ Then, after the reveal it had me squirming in my chair going “Oh my God! EEK!!”

EarthCore may be considered a sci-fi novel, but I would rate it right up there with some of my favorite creepy horror novels. EarthCore is a fantastic choice to add to your bookshelf.

EarthCore is in-your-face, steel-tipped boot on your throat, speed-metal fiction. Nail-biting suspense and non-stop action breathe life into his debut novel.
