Both words and pictures in this book are gorgeous, and evoke a sense of being alone without being lonely. The theme of enjoying life for what it is is explored through the girl's creation of celebrations that mean something personal to her, usually to do with nature. A young girl who lives in the desert creates her own celebrations based on her positive experiences. This book-length poem is a celebration of the natural world, the human spirit, and the spiritual growth that comes from solitude and reflection. Peter Parnell's illustrations further the sense of connection among human, animal, and natural worlds. make a celebration book, go outdoors and observe and write down what you see or brings things in bags no reviews | add a review
