The book had a good layout that remains consistent and as previous stated not for the budget traveler. It was informative if a little tedious in the writing. It did make you want to book a trip. ( )

This can be a fun little travel guide to supplement or guide one towards other travel guide. In other words, this is the sort of book one would read for inspiration when considering different kinds of vacations, but when it come time for the actual serious planning, one would want something more comprehensive for the specific locations. The tone is bright, cheery, and encouraging. As other reviewers have noted, this is not a book for the budget traveller, but if you are using this book just to get started in your planning or just to dream "what if", then cost can be put to one side temporarily.

An interesting look at some of the many options available for women travelers, with recommendations for locations, methods, packing, etc. It's most useful as a starting point, I think, as there isn't enough specific detail to make this my go-to book for every trip ever. But as it's covering worldwide travel, the general view is probably what keeps it from being 3,000 pages long. A fun if light read.

Unlike a Fodor's or Frommer's travel guide, this girl-friendly book is as much about imagination as it is about planning a trip. Meant for browsing, Bond organizes her book by type of trip--exotic escapes, spectacular spas, and glorious gardens are a few of the chapters. An index, a resource section and helpful websites will be at least as useful to the traveler with a specific destination in mind as the semi-detailed chapters. However, if the high price of gas is keeping you home this summer, Bond's descriptions of all things luxurious in the wide world might be a good substitute for an expensive vacation!

This book provides a quick summary of destinations around the globe, most are no more than 5 pages. Not only are you reading expirences from Bond herself, you are also reading other women's travels and advice. Bond stuffed a lot of information in those few pages, including pricing of many travel packages. It is like talking with a well informed group of friends about traveling.
There are interesting and a even a few essential tips for each destination. It's a great resource when you need to decide where to go or when you are in the 'just thinking about it' stage. I recomend getting a more in depth book when you decide where you are going. There are websites for varrious travel agencies for women and volunteer oppurtunities in the index. ( )
