I'm just finishing up the last few chapters of When you are engulfed in flames and chuckling all the way. This is really the most perfect book I could have picked to read after the intensity of Raven Black ... the latter a murder thriller. After the darkness of Raven Black though I needed something really light and am now reading When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris and it's perfect -- exactly what the doctor would have ordered. I finished When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris on Saturday and gave it two and a half stars, which is average for me. Parts of it were very funny, but good golly the man is self-absorbed. The long, long essay at the end about quitting smoking could certainly have been cut down by ... I read When you are Engulfed in Flames while on vacation and found it rather amusing, particularly since Sedaris writes a bit of my home state. I'm told by his fans that this one wasn't nearly as funny as his others. Finished When you are engulfed in flames by David Sedaris (now I understand where the title comes from!) and have started Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. ... girls. I havw just finished reading June Oldham's Flames, a Virago Fiction edition not a VMC. By the end of the book, I was weeping. This novel is quite short, and the reader has to fill in a number of blanks for herself ... ... mind that the details got a little fuzzy sometimes; the details are the MacGuffin). Fun stuff.
