49. Mary Mode ... ... was actually Harry Turtledove's The Disunited States of America, which was an easy read, and S.M. Stirling's Conquistador which went quite well.
... I traveled through to get there:
1. California
Blink of an Eye by Ted Dekker (Berkeley, 20th Century)
Conquistador by S.M. Sterling (San Francisco, Oakland, & Los Angeles, 20th Century)
The 6th Target by James Patterson (San Francisco, 21st Century)
2. Illin ... ... between Harry Potter and St. Trinians might be like if it were written by a complete pervert, and I'm coming to the end of Conquistador by S. M. Stirling which is, I guess, a right-wing utopia. I can't wholeheartedly recommend either of them but they are certainly original. I'd love to know ... #17 Conquistador by S.M. Stirling Conquistador by S.M. Stirling takes place in California in the year 2009...as an alternate California that was never settled by Europeans. ... nice read for all fans of the Alice in Wonderland story...and alternate tellings of fairy tales.
I plan to start reading Conquistador by S.M. Stirling today. ... start reading a book, I try to finish it. Might read other books before I finish, but I finish most of the books I start (Conquistador is a book that immediately leaps to mind; and I ended up giving it a relatively good rating). Only two books curerntly sit "unfinished" in my library.
I ... I picked up Conquistador, A Meeting at Corvallis, and The Death and Life of Superman at Barnes and Noble.
