NCLA Review - If laughter is the best medicine, Karen Linamen’s book will cure more ailments than the snake oil peddled to pioneers was ever supposed to. As the title demonstrates, her wacky humor keeps the reader in stitches. But she is addressing a serious problem and her counsel is as wise as her presentation is funny. Linamen coaches women to achieve an inner peace that circumstances cannot shake. She gives lessons from her own messed-up days, and she regularly pauses for readers to “turn on a light” by considering questions pertaining to what they’ve just read. It’s a good tonic to keep on the church library shelf. Rating: 4 —DKW . 195p, Revell 2008, $12.99 [248.843] ( )no reviews | add a review
