Despite being published 22 years ago, this book is fairly modern in its sensibilities, although the plot seems straight out of the old 80's after-school specials. (In fact, I think I saw a movie, either based on this book or very close in story line, starring Megan Follows of Anne of Green Gables fame when I was a kid.) Seventeen-year-old Leslie and Peter, who have known each other for years, are just sorting the ins & outs of their blossoming physical relationship when they discover that Peter's father and Leslie's mother are having an affair. This book is not one of Norma Klein's finest, but many aspects of the teens' relationship still ring true today, and the writing is only slightly dated. ( )no reviews | add a review
