Boy: Tales of Childhood by Roald Dahl
Lonely Werewolf Girl by Martin Millar
The Orange Girl by Jostein Gaarder
Boy in Darkness by Mervyn Peake
The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint
I've added The Orange Girl to my list.
As always, I find such interesting stuff when I visit here! #135 I also really liked The Orange Girl. I'll have to look out for A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers, sounds like a good read. You're welcome, Dan. There were some philosophical questions posed to the young boy in The Orange Girl, as well. But suited to his age, I'd say. And there were many astronomical allusions and facts that were informative.

Now, all these years later, his grandmother is routinely cleaning the tool shed when she discovers a letter his father had ... ... I was able to get past the poor English and enjoy the content. I guess I'm not exposed to BSE on a daily basis ;)

My personal challenge is to read all five and finish the Atwood this month. Wish me luck! ... I just didn't believe the one dimensional characters. But, it is a book that I will remember for a long time.

I enjoyed Gaarder's previous books a lot more than this one. It is told as a letter to a young boy from his father who had ... ... I just didn't believe the one dimensional characters. But, it is a book that I will remember for a long time.

I enjoyed Gaarder's previous ... ... The beautiful prose and difficult reader would make me suggest it is read, not listened to in the future! And started The Orange Girl, so far a good story.

I liked The Red Tent. I probably know as much about the Bible as I do about quantum physics, so the details ... ... Kate's Klassics earlier this year. Hi Karen - I'm looking forward to The Solitaire Mystery, I really enjoyed his The Orange Girl. I'll have to check out all your lists. ... Burgess
