It does seem as Chevreau hints, the the Peretti series that began with This Present Darkness have influenced our ideas of what it means to stand firm against the devil's schemes far, far too much! Two things: first, the victory has already been won on the Cross! Second, we must stand firm and "see the salvation of the Lord". Our best way of combating evil is to focus our eyes on Jesus. ( )
