Ray Lawrence had a deep love and understanding of the countryside. His knowledge of flaura and fauna was vast. In his book he shares his delights in the countryside that surrounds us. He wrote with a wonderfully unique style of humour which makes his book a captivating and charming read. Sadly, Ray died in 2006 but with this book he will be remembered for his incredible knowledge and passion for the countryside. ( )
