Do you have a website and wonder how you can attract more visitors? This book is all about understanding how Google Search Engines look and index websites, and using that insight to attract potential visitors. The techniques described in this book are often referred to as Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The author goes into great hands-on detail and is great when you limit your scope to the information known at the time the book was published. Most of the details in this book are expected to be applicable for the next two years, and after that the content of the book must be reviewed. Some of the details may only be valid for a year or so. Why?? Because Google does not fully reveal its algorithms. Google also has a dynamically changing set of rules to improve search results, and penalize webmasters who are using non-ethical techniques to manipulate search results (e.g. getting viagra / medications listed in search results that focus on music).

If you are looking to organically improve the traffic to you site, then this book is very helpful, even if it is a bit outdated. If you are looking for the latest details that can help make a difference of 10 positions in the ranking (on the first two pages of search results), then wait for an updated edition. ( )
