NCLA Review - This children’s book was originally published in 1993. This updated edition has been illustrated by Honor Ayres. Little Brown Bird is curious, wondering who it is that made the beautiful morning. She embarks on a quest to find the answer. She eventually asks the breeze who whispers, “God is the maker of all.” So Little Brown Bird flew off to find God and thank Him for creating such a beautiful morning. Flying higher and further away from the pleasant morning and familiar surroundings, she becomes lost. The sun sets, night falls and the weather turns snowy and cold. But, when morning came she knew she would find her way home again. Little Brown Bird had discovered a profound secret—God had been with her in all the places she traveled and would care for her always! Simple text and illustrations convey a beautiful message about God and His profound love and care for all of His creation, all creatures great and small.
