Not a bad read. Hogan manages to capture an essence of adventure through her historical and culturally minded travel diary. The historical aspects of the book are very interesting and focus on women, as is the author's preference, however, the impression that the book is about the experience of Muslim women should be dispelled as there is far less on this topic than advertised.
