Today I finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I don't have much to say about it. I think I need some guidance on the literature. It would also help if my history knowledge was a little better concerning Russia, Communism, etc. I'm glad I have finally read it, though. It ...

93. The Book of Laughter and Forgetting by Milan Kundera Gorgeous, lyrical and sad. I think I liked it better than The Unbearable Lightness of Being, much to my husband's horror (that's one of his favorite books). I could see many of the same themes in this book, but with, I think, even ...

I must admit I'm finding The Book of Laughter and Forgetting a bit of a struggle. I read The Unbearable Lightness of Being a number of years ago and thought it was great. Then early this year I read Immortality and that was a big struggle. I thought it was a bit of a waste of paper ...

I was blown away by Unbearable Lightness of Being in college. totally redefined how I felt about life and love at the time. I have always wondered how it would fare on a re-read, but at the time I thought it was amazing.

Another book -- The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. If you haven't read it, it takes place in Czechoslovakia, around the time of the Prague Spring. I read it around ten years ago, but the title still resonates: Why one character stayed in the country during such a chaotic, ...
