It wasn't a very memorable finish to the series, as the characters didn't have much depth, and the plot featured a ridiculously powerful magic item and far too much intervention by the gods. ( )The conclusion of the RIftwar Legacy. This trilogy was set before the SerpentWar trilogy, even though it was written afterwards. Basically, this series felt like it was written to appease fans who wanted to go back to old familiar characters, which isn't Feist's style. Not bad, but not as good as most of his other books. God stone sunk. Or, the bad guys don't like our religion. Can't have that. A temple raid by forces of your Dark God person sinks an important religious artifact. This leaves a bunch of Kingdom priest types lacking in power. Not so much of a problem for their opposition. So, a bit of Raise the Titanic Stone to be accomplished, which requires the unique skills of a raising from the ocean practitioner, as well as your usual cast of Midkemian heroes and adventurers to be found in the earlier books in this series. http://notfreesf.blogspot.com/2007/10...
