Compendium of poetry books by famed Puerto Rican poet and Nationalist leader Francisco Matos Paoli.
Long out of print, the editorial department of the University of Puerto Rico recently published two volumes
of Paoli's intense poetry, from his first collection when he was only fifteen to his last published verse.
At one time imprisoned for five years, his health was so impaired that he went certifiably insane.
Pardoned by then governor Luis Muñoz Marin, Paoli went on to recover completely from his delirium
and compose one of his most celebrated books of poetry, Canto a la locura.
The Department of Education has dedicated its Fiesta de la Lengua in honor of
Francisco Matos Paoli, which will be celebrated during April 2008. En hora buena. ( )
