At the moment I am reading Paper Towns by John Green (YA novel)... and toying with the idea of re-reading the Outlander series... ... your daughter would enjoy. Take a look at anything by John Green (An Abundance of Katherines, Looking for Alaska, and Paper Towns come to mind. (I haven't read these, but my daughter did and liked them). I notice that The Hunger Games and Catching Fire are in your library. My ... ... at it. I enjoyed them, but I think I would have had more connection to them if I'd read them when I was a child.

Paper Towns - entertaining
So - my book of the month - it would have to be a tie between "Wild Swans" and "In the Woods". Both got me thinking. Can't wait to see what ... I really liked Looking for Alaska but could not get into An Abundance of Katherines. I wasn't aware of Paper Towns -- I'll put that on my "to read" list! ... Lost Things yesterday afternoon, and am still processing it. I enjoyed it, but in a disturbing, creepy way.

The Dive From Clausen’s Pier (in book club); Little Women (friends); anything by Char ... ... about it at first (it was a gift from a close biblioholic friend, so I figured I'd trust her judgment).

#220 Grk, Paper Towns is the only other John Green book I've read in fact! It was gripping, but not as strong as Alaska, which I read first. I wondered whether my opinions on ... #217 - lefty, have you read any of his other books? I've got Paper Towns on hold at the library to pick up this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it, as I was so gripped and moved by Looking for Alaska! What is it with Cecil Castellucci?

I'm not quite sure what to think of this book. It was an easy, enjoyable read, but a little predictable. It's a young adult book, so I suppose teenagers might like it more than I did. A nice change of pace from what I have been reading though. ... teens (and adults, I'm not biased here!) end up LOVING John Green's works, although most have mixed reactions about Paper Towns. If it's your daughter's first Green book, though, I'm sure she won't be disappointed, and will eagerly track down his previous books as well! Book No. 31

After reading Paper Towns it was recommended that I try Looking for Alaska and I will say that John Green has definitely been redeemed in my mind.
The characters are insanely real, refreshingly honest portrayals of teenagers. Th ... That was a hilarious part of Paper Towns... ... us consider the role justice has and the forms it can take. Very emotional story.

4. Generation Dead - Daniel Waters I finished Paper Towns -- it was good, but not great. It's starting to feel like John Green has a very small set of characters to draw from. I have a hard time keeping his main guys separate, and the girls are always MPDGs.

Next up is Paper Towns, Close Kin (Hollow Kingdom #2), and Rich Like Them (my ER book). I finished Hush: An Irish Princess' Tale, but I didn't really care for it. Now Espy thinks I should read Paper Towns, but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for John Green. ... even though they are very different books. And Kate is a much stronger main character than Bella.
Also I picked up Paper Towns from the library today, so I'll start that in the next day or so. :) Espy, I just got the call today that Looking for Alaska is waiting for me at the library, and I just added Paper Towns to my queue. Of course, given that the estimated wait for Paper Towns is 97 days, I should have plenty of time to finish Looking for Alaska first!
If I can ever get off L ... ... this morning, though: If you liked anything by John Green you should definitely drop whatever you're doing and pick up Paper Towns. Just saying... ... to make a rule that I don't start anything by either Markus Zusak or John Green right before I go to bed. I started read Paper Towns at about midnight, and I finished it roughly 15 minutes ago. It is absolutely fantastic! I kept wanting to read more, and there was really no time I could put ... ... to Dragons and both started and finished Alcatraz Versus the Scrivener's Bones. 1. Abundance of Katherine by John Green >12 You should definitely try to get to Paper Towns. I started it yesterday, now on page 179 and can hardly put it down. In fact I'm going to go read it now.
I haven't read Looking for Alaska yet but can't wait to. ... and I'd like to try something else, I think. Many of the graduates in this area have degrees from San Jose.

But I've never read Paper Towns. I agree, I really enjoyed Looking for Alaska and I just felt like Paper Towns was too close of the same subject but it was good. I haven't read An Abundance of Katherine's yet and I'm wondering if I should take the time to read it?? Any suggestions? I'm not sure if the other two books were just so much better than Paper Towns, or if it's just the third time he used the same formula, and that made me like it less. I've liked his other books An Abundance of Katherines and Looking for Alaska much better. Goodness, this was a much anticipated book for me. Like, I've been looking forward to this sucka since sometime last year. It was really good, no doubt, but it felt like the same characters from ... I just read and reviewed Paper Towns - my first John Green. Will be reading the other two! 38) Paper towns by John Green. I got this as an advance reader's copy from work, yet I had wanted to read it anyway, so it was a fantastic surprise. Being my first of his, I enjoyed the writing and plot layout immensely, though it has the distinct simplicity of young adult lit. The ... ... #11, I share your assessment. Mr. Green has definitely made his way onto my favourite authors list. I can't wait to read Paper Towns next month.
Ooooh I think my boss has an ARC of Paper Towns - she said she liked it but that it was just ok. But...I'm starting to learn that my taste is pretty different from hers. I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on a copy. Wait til you guys have a chance to read Paper Towns! I believe it's John's best yet--many, many layers, and many lessons to be learned about how we perceive others--in addition to being a great story with characters you'll be glad you met! oh my god!
