After finding "The Aspern Papers" (Henry James) in 1888 Venice, Italy, I've moved to 1920s Hong Kong with 'Kitty Fane' in "The Painted Veil" by W. Somerset Maugham.

Kate Reading does an excellent job with The Painted Veil by Somerset Maugham. As far as Dickens goes, I read Our Mutual Friend recently as a 31-hour download from Audible.com, as read by Robert Whitfield (a/k/a Simon Vance, I believe). He's pretty good!
