Captain Hoo ... i am reading Dark Hills Divide by Patrick Carman ... Christian, fantasy and children I highly recommend Patrick Carman's Land of Elyon series. The first book is called The Dark Hills Divide. If you like the Chronicles of Narnia I think you'll like Carman's stuff too. :) The Dark Hills Divide? ... happens for me. Lucky girl! :) Wait, prequel to Into the Mist - I thought that book was the prequel to the three books The Dark Hills Divide, Beyond the Valley of Thorns, and Tenth City. There's another book out besides these four? (Or is it an ARC?) ... Carman's Land of Elyon series. Strong female heroine in the same age range as your friend's granddaughter. Start with The Dark Hills Divide.

I'm now reading Patrick Carman's first book The Land of Elyon series, The Dark Hills Divide. ... postings; can't just be because I started it a bit early. On the other hand I didn't get to read much. Thoroughly enjoyed The Divide by Nicholas Evans, I thought it was pretty much as good as The Horse Whisperer, and then Kathy Reichs' thriller Deja Dead, well up to the standard of ... Finished The Fire Within by Chris D'Lacey, The Dark Hills Divide by Patrick Carman, and now reading The Door Within by Wayne Thomas Batson which is the first book in the trilogy of the same name, and Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce.
