I will read another ... There is also the Indian novel, A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif (male author). You may be mixing up the two as both were released around the same time. Your outline doesn't sound as much like the mango book, but there is a lot going on in that one plot wise, so I may be forgetting ... Finally made my way out of A Case of Exploding Mangoes! I've been reading Winterson's The Passion today and almost finished it. Loads of Passionate expression in only 160 pages. Then I've a commitement to my mini-bookgroup that we'll read Smoke and Mirrors: A Brad Chen Novel this ACT school ... I was thinking of buying A Case of Exploding Mangos. Perhaps I shouldn't ? ... as wonderful as the Death of Rat's, that tiny hoody is too cute.

Started A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif. A promising read, quirky, witty, a book with personality. I really enjoyed The Lost Dog and A Case of Exploding Mangoes. I found A Fraction of the Whole to be a bit of a slog, I'm just over half way throught it. We sure don't have much time to read them before the winner is announced.

So far I've also finished The Enchantress of Florence, my favorite so far, A Case of Exploding Mangoes, The Lost Dog, The White Tiger, and Netherland. I'll start A Fraction of the Whole tonight. I finished A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif two days ago, which was quite good. It dealt with the events leading up to the mysterious plane crash of the former Pakistani president General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. The narrator is an officer in the Pakistani Air Force, but the story ... ... authors.
I've certainly seen visitors to my blog that I suspect are authors. For example, the day after I reviewed A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif, I got a hit from Pakistan where the author lives. I've never gotten a hit from Pakistan before, so I suspect that was ... #160 kidzdoc I just finished A Case of Exploding Mangoes, it was great. I was unaware of the actual event before reading this book. I reserved it from my library a while ago and feel quite smug that I did that well before the Booker list came out.

I started reading A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif, which has made me laugh out loud a half dozen or so times in the first 30 pages. I also started 84, Charing Cross Road ... I stopped at Borders last night on the way to work, and picked up two books that are on the 2008 Booker Prize longlist: A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif and The Lost Dog by Michelle De Kretser. After I came home this morning, I picked up a package from Amazon.com, which ... ... lot easier. I do listen to audio books, but the variety at my library isn't as good as the real book section. I'm reading A Case of Exploding Mangoes right now. I'm knitting monkey socks, well I've finished one, still have to start the second, and am about half a square into a log cabin ... I am over half was through A Case of Exploding Mangoes, and really enjoying it. Coincidentally, this is the book that has interrupted my Orange Summer, as I had it on hold from the library.
