If you have an interest in making background papers or a book, I feel this book will appeal to you whether you are a “seasoned” or beginner with painting papers. For the beginner, the author provides clear and concise explanations of the different elements (papers, boards, inks, acrylic paints, dies, pigments, etc) one needs to get started. For the “seasoned” artist beautiful examples are sure to inspire you and have you looking at all kinds of items to be used to “paint” with (think sticks, string, tooth picks, pieces of corrugated boxes, craft sticks and even jar lids)! Alisa tells the reader what (product) works for her, but encourages you to play and figure out what works best for you. I’m hoping that I will soon have the opportunity to try some of the techniques and projects for myself. -Brenda ( )
