Travel writing, erotic or no, should leave the reader feeling as though he has been enriched in some way, as though he has discovered new physical and psychological ground. Some of the stories in this book do that. Others, however, are exercises in egocentrism that merely use a foreign destination as a backdrop (and push the limits of credibility).
