Story of Gus who hosts a show on a food network.

bought it at the Scholastic book fair to take on a trip. good read! Great charachter development like Nora Roberts without too much sappy romance. Felt like I knew the characters and therefore a quick beach & plane read. In fact the stewardess had to ask me twice if I wanted a drink because I was so absorbed in the book! Going to check out her other books!

I enjoyed it, a story about a middleaged woman who makes changes in her life. It may not be very realistic but sometimes when our own lives are way too realistic it's distracting to read a light book like this. ( )

Fun romp involving the drama, disasters, and power plays behind a cooking channel tv show. I listened to the audiobook read by Barbara Rosenblatt and her husky voice was interesting and funny when she voiced the different characters. It flowed nicely, caused me to laugh out loud on occasions, and kept my interest throughout. Recommended for a light and comical read. ( )

What a great cast of characters! I love Gus and really did not like Carmen, but she redeemed herself at the end. Gus is turning 50 and has been a very successful cooking show hostess but are her ratings falling? Will her show not be renewed? Also her adult daughters are having their own life problems and Gus is constantly trying to fix them. I could really relate to Gus at this time in my life and I learned to always be truthful with my grown children. Thanks for a great book! ( )
