Not a bad story line but I think Brook’s is a bit wordy almost to the point of stretching out the series. ( )

Continues the story of the children of Shannara. This is all about Walker Boh's quest to find the black elfstone and to restore Paranor. We are introduced to a new character, Quickening. The ending was semi-predictable, but it was interesting. ( )

Terry Brooks follows the same pattern in each episode of a series. He takes up to 100 pages to get in motion, explain all the characters, relationships and history. If you manage that far, you're in for one heck of a read. ( )

The second book in the Heritage series, featuring Walker Boh. This book takes a bit of a strange turn, continuing the exploration of the Four Lands into even stranger areas. Walker has finally united the Shannara heritage with the druid heritage given to them by Allanon, whether he wants to or not. Like Allanon, he's now responsible for saving the Four Lands from all kinds of problems, and this latest one is no easier than the others.
If you like Terry Brooks, you'll like this book. We get to see new areas of the Four Lands, and new enemies that aren't related to the Ildatch, and Walker Boh is back again. ( )

I liked Terry Brooks mainly because of the mystical and magical feeling of his world. I probably would not like him if I stumbled upon his books today.
