I finished reading Falling Man by Don DeLillo, which I thought was quite good. I am now onto I,Robot by Isaac Asimov.

... Is a Harsh Mistress holds up better than Stranger In a Strange Land and is less divisive than Starship Troopers. I, Robot - Now I know Isaac Asimov has been dragged over the coals repeatedly and his prose deserves it. But his robot stories should be read. (It's a shame. I'm almost ...

... proposed movies are almost always better than what comes out at the end? Look at what happened to the movie version of I, Robot for instance. There was the Harlan Ellison script that was floating around for years. But that was ignored and a different script originally titled Hardwired ...

What a shame when I, Robot is an easier title to get your hands on than Hardwired. I guess that's the benefit of waiting for someone to die. You know, if they'd just called it something else, I might have been able to enjoy the movie as a piece of crap action vehicle. But with that title and ...

... Smith and Akiva Goldsmith have gone on with a different director and butchered I Am Legend (almost) as badly as they did I, Robot. I read the Wikipedia article on the movie and it made me even madder. The script they originally had was called Hardwired and wasn't supposed to be I, R ...

What I didn't understand particularly about the movie version of I, Robot is that the movie was so far removed from the book (they shared no main characters, no plot points, no themes), why not just change the name of the thing? If it were just called Robot Massacre 3000 and Isaac Asim ...

... history...except for maybe DeMille's take on the Bible... Or any adaptation starring Will Smith. Take for instance I, Robot (take it... please!) or I Am Legend.

Guys, If an author posts on LT and ends their posts something similar to: Cheers, Isaac Asimov Author of: I, Robot and Foundation Is that a violation of TOS or am I just being too sensitive?

... mean! I've got Gargoyle, Aviary Gate, and Songs for the Missing to read now, and Smith's I Robot and Asimov's I, Robot to come. LT will be the death of me! Death by book... I could think of worse ways.... :-D

You're talking to a man who has sat through the movie versions of both I Am Legend and I, Robot (for a second time! Don't ask) within the last two weeks. Perhaps I do not value my time enough. Seriously though, heaven knows I loves to rant, but at least watch a movie before tearing it ...

... with changing the setting to New York. I was okay with replacing the vampires with knock-offs from 28 Days Later. But like I, Robot (also manhandled by Goldsmith and Smith) the movie had nothing to do with the novel. Remember how the vampires would nogregate outside Nevile's house every night ...

"The Romans, arrogant? Never! I'm scandalized" LOL! i'm having a ball with this book. for the most part it's a fascinating lecture on ancient architecture. but where its' science fails is where it becomes very entertaining. for instance, his attempt to explain refraction as a distortion of ...

I don't suppose Talk allows the script tag, does it? Didn't think so.
