Closely linked to the movie Monsters Inc, this board book is a basic introduction to the characters. The diction throughout is very much over the age range of pre-K children therefore the focus of the book for small children is the illustrations which are cartoon-like and closely mirror the stylization of the film. The first page has an oval of blue fur that children can pet and play with and while the oval pokes through an oval cut out on the cover, there are no other tactile pages. This book would be good for children who can't get enough of Monsters Inc and are more engaged with pictures than words. ( )
