A journey into the improbably with a craft twist. If you don't "get" crochet you won't understand the craft side. Further, if you expect the police to act like police, investigators to act professional, then don't tread on this. You'll be disappointed. This is more a light romance with a very light mystery twist.

While that might sound like a pan, it is more a peg for the kind of book I found it to be. Read in just over a day, easy, pleasant in a silly way, a relief from the heavy historical research books I've read lately.

Would I recommend? Sure, for your crafty, crochet friends. Is it a good mystery? Nope. But with the quirky characters, semi-familiar locales to a California person, it is a fun read and worth a couple hours of your time. ( )

This was a very enjoyable cozy mystery for me. I liked the main character in spite of her unlikely name of Molly Pink. I just didn't really know that book stores hired "Event Coordinators." I am originally from Southern California, so the Valley locale was fairly familiar to me. Also, I do crochet and there was a lot of crochet in the book, more than I had expected, and I loved it. I can see, though, that this might be a drawback to someone who is not involved or interested in getting involved in the craft. In this book, the first in the series, Molly is a crochet novice, but she is confidently crocheting granny squares by the end of the novel. I thought the mystery itself was average, but I look forward to reading more in the series. ( )

I picked this book up from the library as I have a new found interest in crochet and thought it would be a laugh. It just proved to me that I'm not really a cozy fan.

The story line was a tad cute to me and one of the only [b:saving grace|130916|The Saving Graces A Novel|Patricia Gaffney|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171995451s/130916.jpg|126092]s is that at least the middle age character isn't running around trying to land herself a man half the time. ( )

I like murder mysteries, always have. And this falls in line with the crafty side of me. ( )

When I stopped by Ellen Sheridan's house to drop off the crochet hooks she'd left at the bookstore, I expected to be in and out with maybe a thank-you and a few brownie points.
