This picture book by Steve Metzger teaches young readers about different kinds of trees that the children from the book encounter as they go on their leaf hunt. Its illustrations are bright, as it features colorful leaves and contains a fall theme. It has rhythmic and repetitive words which help enhance children’s phonological awareness.

We're Going on a Leaf Hunt is a great story to read to students during the fall season where they can learn about fall, all the colors, and the nature surrounding it. I'd recommend this story for first and second graders. ( )

We're on a leaf hunt is about a group of children on a search for the prettiest leaves they can find. They hit obstacles but they end up making it home safe. This is a very cute book.

Grades K-3 ( )

A small group of students go on an adventure them brings many challenges along with it. While searching for a leaf they run into certain places like a cold lake, waterfall, through a forest, and even a large hill/mountain. Once they find their leaves it is almost certain what they are going to do, and that's what any young kid is going to do. Make a big pile of leaves and jump into it! ( )
