Have to review a little later. Running out of time at the library computer. #35 lene: Thanks for the additional info. I think the book that I borrowed from the library with Double Indemnity in it also contained The Postman Always Rings Twice, but I will have to check. I have not yet read The Postman Always Rings Twice, but I read Double Indemnity earlier this year. How did you like Postman? ... I think maybe someone erroneously combined the Cain book and the sytem had not finished caching when you looked at it. Double Indemnity still shows up as a possible combination on the Debris page. Help! I just attempted to separate "Death and Shadows" by Paula Gosling from Double Indemnity by James M. Cain. I'm pretty sure it didn't work - and I think Double Indemnity may be slurping in extra copies of Death and Shadows now.

Coming soon: Reyner Banham's The Architecture ... ... be worth checking out. Double-crosses, traps, revenge: check, check and check. And at least two of his most famous works, Double Indemnity and The Postman Always Rings Twice, are written from the bad guy's POV. (Mildred Pierce is another well worth reading.)
