One of several titles authored by Marian Broida in the Hands-on History series. This particular book includes 9 projects that will help readers gain a better understanding of what it is was like to live during Revolutionary times. Book is divided into 5 sections: Introduction, The Loyalists, The Patriots, The British and Epilogue. Each section includes a brief explanation of the group followed by a craft. Projects include making a Liberty or British flag, a Mobcap, a Medical Kit,and several others. Favorite project: make “a saw for cutting off wounded arms and legs” and a leech jar to be included in their Medical Kit. Educational, but ew. All projects include a list of needed items and step by step instructions with illustrations. Introduction to each section includes reproductions of well-known paintings that portray major events of the era. Epilogue includes glossary, books and websites for additional information, metric conversion chart and index. ( )
