This isn't so much a review as a caveat: E A Wallis Budge was in charge of the British Museum's Egyptian collection at the turn of the 20th century. He was a very good curator.

However, the study of the Ancient Egyptian language was still very young. And as good a curator as Budge was, he was very bad at translating. In fact, In the film "Stargate," Daniel Jackson, while correcting a translation of a passage of Ancient Egyptian, turns to the others in the room and says, "Whoever did this must have used Budge. I don't know why they're still publishing his stuff."

So, whenever you use Budge, remember what Daniel Jackson said and search out more modern works, but you still have fun with Budge's lovely drawings and phrasing. ( )
