... where things are just 'not right'. This is an odd concept to get across, but here goes....
I was recently reading Just after sunset by Stephen King, and there's a story in there called 'N.', which is told in letters, newspaper articles etc, about a man who may or may not be mad who has ... ... it.....in fact, I don't even own it yet. I plan on asking Santa for it!!! Meantime, I have his collection of shorts Just After Sunset in the cue for a read. Just picked that one up at one of my used haunts!
Good to hear from you. Hope life in the frozen north is good! ... in on the Stephen King chat. I thought Cell was okay and enjoyed Duma Key but could not get into Lisey's Story or Just After Sunset. I read a lot of King in the 80s and then stopped reading him for a while. My favorite of his is Bag of Bones but I know a lot of people didn't like ... ... which I loved and I got back in the groove with him. He is not as consistent as early on, I didn't care for Cell or Just After Sunset but I loved Lisey's Story and Duma Key, so I feel his writing has gotten stronger but just not with every book. Thanks for the offer of Just After Sunset, but I almost never read short stories. I have his son's short ghost stories - 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill, and haven't even cracked that one.

-- A new collection of stories from the "Master of Horror". A fairly mixed bag in terms of genre: supernatural, suspense, gross-out, subtle horror. Likewise, a somewhat mixed bag of quality, but overall I enjoyed reading it. I haven't been ... ... Saints and her escape with her eight children. Some editing flaws (a fair bit of repetition) but a powerful tale.

I would say no to Duma Key, definitely no to Cell, very much no to Regulators, but yes to Everything's Eventual, Just After Sunset, and definitely Lisey's Story. I do think that if one reads King, though, with a voice in one's head of doubt and preconceived irritation about his ... #29: What was the name of the story? Is it in Just After Sunset? I'm curious to read it now. I can say the one Mormon girl I know does swear funny like that.

I've always found King's shortstories to be worthwhile, and for me this was a fascinating mix of literary suspense and traditional King-style horror. About half of the stories, while of dark content, just aren't horror--they are good, though. Readin ... ... interesting points, though I particularly liked the love story & poetry. I must say, I greatly enjoyed this book.

I actually own Just After Sunset but haven't read it yet. Finished Just AFter Sunset, Stephen King'scollection of short fiction which got better and better as I listened to more stories. The readings were uniformly excellent.Probably the best reader was Ron Mclaretywho apparently does lots of audio books.

This cat story you're talking about wouldn't be The Cat From Hell, would it? I read that story in Just After Sunset and holy hell did it freak me out. It also reaffirmed my dislike for animals of the feline variety (I'm definitely a dog person). That was a very scary ... I finished Just After Sunset, Stephen King's latest set of short stories. It was pretty good, but not up to the standard he has set on his last couple books. Maybe, I prefer the novels.

Anyway, as a fan of Stephen King I'd have to say he would own in a short story competition. Check out Just After Sunset, his self-admitted return to the field of short stories. Of course, I haven't read anything by Stephenie Meyer. Blind loyalty is great. ... King I haven't read are a few short stories here and there (he's hard to keep up with) and that collection you just read, Just After Sunset. The Shining is a favorite. Couldn't finish the movie for years (the Kubrick version) because of the twins asking Danny if he wanted to play. Then ... ... was completely blown away at the end by who the culprits were, which in Christie's works, I don't really mind.

I've been up way past my bedtime for the past 3 nights because I couldn't stop listening to this fabulous collection of short stories by The King of Horror. Frankly, after Misery, which I simply couldn' ... It's Stationary Bike from Just After Sunset and I just bought it the day I read the quote on LT, then reached the story in the book about an hour later so it was fresh in my mind.
I just spotted on Just After Sunset on shelves this evening. Any buyers? How about early comments and opinions?
