"Abraham Lincoln" by Christy Devillier is a great informational book for readers K-3 or anybody that wants to know the basics of Lincoln's life. The book tells the story of Lincoln as a child, growing up poor and processing to be a great man that one day will be president of the United States of America and abolish slavery. The book also includes the death of Lincoln and how people can honor him at the Lincoln memorial. ( )

This book was a very interesting read. It gave a lot of back round on Abraham's life. Some things even I didn't know! It was easy to read, simple sentences and actual pictures of Abe on each page. I think it would be fun to read to students and teach them about one of America's best presidents. ( )

One of the greatest presidents to have ever taken the position in the oval office, Mr. Abraham Lincoln. This book is great to use in introducing younger students to different presidents of the U.S. Lincoln was the 16th president of the U.S.A. He became president during one of the most violent periods in history, the Civil War. He was a great man who was passionate for his country. He was famous for his Gettysburg Address, served to bolster the spirits of the north by focusing on the ultimate goals which was to keep the States United. He also was a proponent against slavery. Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He led a very memorable reign as president. Lincoln ended slavery by signing the Emancipation Proclamation and he helped end the American Civil War. Abraham Lincoln was nicknamed as "Honest Abe" because he always told the truth, which is a trait I admire most in a person. Abraham Lincoln was the start of freedom in America and still, after all this time has gone by, men are still segregated and killed because of the pigments in their skin. I admire Lincoln very much for freeing the slaves, even if that meant he'd have to die for something that he believed it. This teaches kids to stay honorable to their beliefs. ( )
