The choice to take it must be yours alone.â?

I mean ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Not as bad as it could have been. Neither Brooks nor Salvadore are reknown for their high quality prose, and the films this is based upon didn't recieve anywhere near the acclaim of the originals, but even so they managed to put together perfectly readable novelisations and even improved it in places. Stover was by far the best of the three, although somewhat unevenly so. There were notable changes in tone between the three writers with Stover being the most different.

I can't remember the prequel films in that much detail, but I didn't notice any particular alterations from the basic plot, although there are many instances where the authors have been able to expand the characters motivations. None of the action scenes carry quite the same degree of impact as they do on screen, but the added characterisations more than make up for it. A particular bonus was that JarJar was far less annoying than in the films.

Probably only worth reading if you're huge SW fan, or else if your particularly dislike films but prefer vast books. Worth noting that the last 140 pages ie 5% of the book, contains trailers for other (non-canon) books written in and around the SW universe. ( )
