my first ever Harlequin. it was in the goodie bag for the conference, so I didn't have to shell out the $6.15 it costs to get one of these beauties. Which is good, because I didn't like it. It's a Sexy. I didn't think it was very sensual, personally, but that's just me. The story felt like cheap candy. Bright colours, but no lingering aftertaste. The ideas were cute, but just sort of dabbed on quickly wthout any emotional investment for me. I didn't care either way, and the 'twist' was more of a loop in the rope than a 'I wonder what happens now?' Obviously, there is something amiss with me, since Emma Darcy is hugely populatr, and has been for quite some time. It hasn't put me off category romances, but it has enforced my cliche-formed opinion of it, unfortunately. I will give other books another shot. again, this book had a glam setting (a billionaire, puh-lease), and that just doesn't sit well with me.

Book description
He wants her – so he buys her! When Australian billionaire Hugo Fullbright sees Angie Blessing advertising herself on a billboard, he knows he has to have her. Hugo thinks he knows the score with Angie: she’s prepared to tell the world she’s looking for a date. And there’s no doubt about the instant, scorching sexual attraction between them! So why, at first, does Angie refuse his offer? Angie cannot tell Hugo the real story. But finally she succumbs to his powers of seduction and agrees to join him on a weekend trip to Tokyo…not realising that he’s a man used to paying for what he wants – and that she’s been brought – and bought – for his pleasure!
