Book description
History, geography, flora and fauna of the Rogers Pass area and Canadian Pacific Railway in the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia. Hundreds of lives were lost building the railway through Rogers Pass in British Columbia to join east and west. The distributer says: Over 400 glaciers in this area can receive more than 20 metres of snow per year and the Pass is protected by the world's largest avalanche control program. This is the land of “the white executioner” and from the deadly slide of 1899 until 1960 over 250 innocents have lost their lives. Data on flora, fauna and hiking trails.
