This books takes you along with a group of sheep who are gathering things to go on a hike. They go through a few trials along the way but end up having a successful hike by the end of the day. The pictures in these stories as I've stated before in other reviews, are very detailed and keep you entertained the whole time. The rhyming and larger illustrations is fun and helps get younger readers attention. ( ) I love the sheep series. In this one, the facial expressions on the animals really shine, especially the non-sheep characters. Margot Apple puts all sorts of little details into her illustrations and it seems I discover something new each time I read the book. The rhymes are a delight. If you read this book out loud, don't read too fast. The rhythm requires pauses in the proper places. If you read it slowly, with expression, you'll find that the rhythm is more comfortable. Toddlers love these books and love the rhymes so you'll get lots of practice. Worth owning. This series is one of my all time favorites. no reviews | add a review
