A devotional journey through The lord of the rings. Includes biographical notes.

This is a fairly good devotional which has basically a lesson for each character or group in Lord of the Rings. On the good side this makes you think about the lessons when you read the book or watch the movie, but on the bad side it makes you think about the book or movie while reading the devotional, and can cause your mind to wander. Also reading the books or seeing the movies is a must before reading this devotional. I initially read this devotional after only having seen the movies once, and did not enjoy it as much as this time through (after reading the books as well)

Each devotional is about 5 pages long, and set up for you to do 2 a week. This could be good if you're in some sort of Bible study or limited time, but i generally prefer to do my devotions each night so they felt a bit long, and I finished it in a little 2 weeks. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0842385541, Paperback)

Tolkien's Lord of the Rings epic tale has long captivated readers with its parallels to biblical truth. And now, Walking with Frodo looks at the biblical themes found in the classic Lord of the Rings trilogy. The 18 devotions pair vices and virtues (deception vs. honesty, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil) displayed by characters in The Lord of the Rings and bring to light what the Bible has to say. A must-have for longtime and new series fans.
